The origins and present state of topological methodology in the field of social philosophy are investigated. If the foundations of the contemporary description techniques of social and cultural landscape were laid by O. Spengler and M. Heidegger who based themselves on Goethe and Nietzsche, then, the present-day state of topology is at large determined by M. Foucault and M. Delanda. In his ‘climbing anthropology’ the latter scholar offers the scheme: individuals - institutes - cities - states. Taking into account various data concerning Russian linguistic and philosophical conception of the world, we deem it necessary to complement Delanda’s scheme with an analysis of the most essential topologems of national cultures. Topologems are taken by us as mentally and philosophically ‘burdened’ images of space. Thus, for Russian culture the second link which should be added to Delanda’s pattern is house or home as such (‘home sweet home’) - the citadel of originality and cosiness.
