The article discusses design thinking algorithms based on the work of J. K. Jones, T. Brown, B. Lawson, P. Rand and other authors and shows their practical approbation. The design is treated not only as a special kind of creative and project activity, but also a special design algorithm that can be widely used in other areas. Characteristics of convergence, transformation, divergence as the main stages of design thinking, as well as brainstorming and the method of mental maps as techniques that promote convergence are given.
