The article analyzes theoretical and methodological aspects of “ontological turn” in contemporary social theory. Condition and causes of the renewal of ontology in social sciences and humanities are described. The author relies on modern theoretical and methodological justifi cations in contemporary philosophy and social theory, on research on new ontology and on the problem of interpreting the social.
